What is Probate NSW?

A Grant of Probate in NSW is a legal document issued by the Supreme Court of NSW that gives an  executor the authority to administer and manage the deceased person’s estate in accordance with the provisions of the Will.  Once the executor has the Grant of Probate, he or she can then produce it to those persons or entities who hold assets of the deceased. For example, banks, land titles office and insurance companies, retirement villages. Those people or entities will then permit the executor to transfer or deal with the asset.
